Sending messages and searching latitude and longitude

in flexmls API

We’re happy to announce a couple of new features in the flexmls API that were just released.

Latitude and longitude are now searchable in the Listings service. This may be used for rectangle searches, among other types of searches. The actual latitude and longitude of each listing may or may not be returned, however; our geocoding licensing with NAVTEQ allows the fields to be searched as long as the actual coordinates are not returned, so any listings geocoded using NAVTEQ will not return the latitude and longitude. The availability of the latitude and longitude in any given listing hasn’t changed with this update, but the ability to search the fields has.

Also in this release, messaging services have been added. For IDX applications, flexmls messages may be sent from a specified contact to the agent who owns the API key, or from the agent who owns the key to another agent or a specified contact. For Portal applications, messages may be sent from the authenticated contact to the agent who owns the API key. Messages are sent using the flexmls messaging system, which sends an e-mail and makes the message appear inside of flexmls.

As always, please let us know if you have any feedback.
